Neighbors Helping Neighbors: Why Nu'Jants Supports the American Red Cross
Small business from Hampton VA, shipping worldwide. We say that a lot, and we mean both halves of it. We are rooted in a real place with real neighbors, and we also serve customers far beyond our zip code. This post is about the idea that ties those two things together: neighbors helping neighbors.
Look at the graphic. Builders, nurses, soldiers, grandparents, kids, people of every background standing together around one shared world. That is the picture of a community, and it is how we think about the American Red Cross, an organization built around the idea that help should reach people when they need it most.
Where our mission comes from
Nu'Jants started as a small store with a wide range of everyday products. As the shop grew, so did the question we kept asking ourselves: what do we do with the chance to reach so many people? Our answer was to build giving into the business itself. A share of every Nu'Jants sale goes to the American Red Cross, and a recurring monthly donation is made in the Nu'Jants name.
We do not want giving to be a banner we put up once a year. We want it to be a habit of the business. That is why you will see the Red Cross in our posts, our blogs and our captions, not just in a special campaign.
What neighbors helping neighbors looks like
It looks like a volunteer showing up with supplies. It looks like a donor who gives a little every month. It looks like a family that finds a safe place to stay after a hard night. The American Red Cross works in all of those moments, and ordinary people make it possible.
It also looks like a shopper who chooses a small business because they like what it stands for. When you buy from Nu'Jants, you are not just picking a product. You are choosing to be one of the neighbors in the picture.
Our promise to you
We will keep giving on a schedule, we will keep showing the proof, and we will keep our claims simple and honest. You can see the receipt in We Put Our Money Where Our Mouth Is and read why we started in Why Nu'Jants Gives Back.
If you believe in the same idea, share this post with a neighbor. Send it to the group chat. Tag a friend who is always the first to help. Good ideas travel faster when people pass them along, and this one is worth passing along.
A simple way to take part this week
Pick one small thing. Check on a neighbor, share this post with someone who likes to help, or choose a gift for a friend from our catalog. None of these take long, and together they are exactly what the graphic is about. Community is built from small acts repeated by a lot of people.
And if you are shopping anyway, you might as well shop somewhere that gives back. Browse the full catalog for tees, throw pillows, jewelry, tumblers, hats and gifts for every budget, and know that your order is part of something bigger than a checkout page.
